I have found the Tendiboots to be an incredibly useful addition to my canine physiotherapy clinic, particularly for objectively assessing gait and monitoring changes over time. One of the biggest benefits for me is being able to track an individual dog’s progress using measurable data rather than relying solely on visual assessment. This has been particularly valuable in cases where changes may be subtle or develop gradually. For example, I have recently been monitoring a dog undergoing conservative management over a period of time. Serial gait assessments allowed me to demonstrate objectively how his gait and limb loading changed, including an improvement whilst receiving pain relief followed by a deterioration when this was withdrawn. This provided really useful additional information and helped support the decision to refer him back for further veterinary investigation. I also find the data extremely helpful when communicating with other members of the multidisciplinary team, particularly vets and hydrotherapists. Subjective gait assessment will always have an important clinical role, but interpretation can vary between practitioners. Having objective, repeatable measurements gives us a common reference point and means that discussions can be based on measurable data rather than individual opinion alone. For me, the Tendiboots don’t replace clinical assessment, but add another really valuable piece to the puzzle. They allow me to establish a baseline, monitor progress or deterioration over time, assess response to treatment or medication, and provide objective evidence to support clinical decision-making. Overall, they have become a really valuable part of my canine clinic and something I now use regularly as part of both assessment and rehabilitation monitoring.

We have recently purchased the Tendiboots to aid with our gait analysis assessments and to provide more objective data for everyone involved in the patient's rehabilitation. The hydro feature of the Tendiboots helps me to monitor the progress of the rehabilitation program selected for my patients. The parameters gathered are useful to assess if the loading of the limbs is getting more symmetrical, thus indicating the return to function of the affected limb(s).

We use Tendiboots alongside our Canine Fitness Index (CFX) to gain objective insights into each dog’s movement and translate those findings into a tailored action plan.
